EXCURSION DESCRIPTION
Begin your journey with convenient port pick up and a most memorable scenic 75-minute drive through the beautiful Spanish countryside to the extraordinary village of Setenil de las Bodegas. This unique town is famous for its whitewashed houses built directly into and beneath massive overhanging rock formations along the narrow gorge of the Río Trejo. Enjoy free time to wander through its charming streets, take photos of the dramatic rock dwellings, and soak in the village’s unforgettable atmosphere...truly a unique experience you won't soon forget. Next, continue onward to Ronda, one of Spain’s oldest and most historic cities...a chance to soak in a truly Spanish experience. Upon arrival, enjoy a one-hour guided tour, followed by free time for lunch, shopping, and exploring (lunch at your own expense). During your free time, you may choose to visit the iconic Plaza de Toros de Ronda (bullring) home of the Real Maestranza de Caballería, the oldest and most prestigious order of horsemanship in Spain, founded in 1485. Completed in 1785, Ronda’s bullring is one of the oldest in Spain, notable for being among the first constructed entirely of stone. Ronda is also famous for its spectacular setting atop a dramatic cliff, divided by the deep El Tajo Gorge, carved by the Guadalevín River. Spanning the chasm is the breathtaking Puente Nuevo (“New Bridge”), completed in 1793—an architectural masterpiece and one of the most recognized landmarks in Andalusia. Ronda has long inspired writers and artists, including Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles, both of whom spent many summers here and drew creative inspiration from its dramatic landscapes and traditions. This unforgettable day will conclude with return transportation back to the port.

We fell in love with Brian within the first 20 seconds. His excursions were well planned extremely well executed, even when monkey wrenches were thrown into the mix. Brian is professional, funny and full of energy that is just infectious! My suggestion book with him book early because the word is out that he is the bomb!! That is, as long as you’re not taking a seat away from me!

As novice international travelers, booking excursions with Brian Travels was one of the best decisions my husband and I made. Brian took the time to meet with us, and answer questions we had before we ever left home. We felt confident and secure in knowing that his tours would be intimate, fun and cover a lot of what we wanted to see. If you are looking for a great adventure with great people, do not hesitate to book with Brian Travels.
