Why book with Brian Travels?Brian is an independent, travel professional offering seamless and stress-free trips to some of the world's most beautiful and memorable sites. Brian has travelled extensively and visited each of these locations previously. Brian understands the ins and outs of getting around at the locations and expertly designs each trip to maximize your time and money while experiencing the local history, food, culture, and landscapes. What makes a Brian Travels' trip truly unique, however, is that Brian will also be traveling alongside you on your adventure and will be out on the excursion days traveling amongst the groups.

How do I know if an excursion/trip available?The online booking system automatically updates the available inventory. If you are able to book an excursion/trip, then it is available.

Do you match single travelers to other single travels? (not applicable on cruise tours)I do not specifically match single travelers. However, we can pass along information to single travelers so that they can coordinate on their own.

Can I simply turn up without a reservation?No

What currency are the prices?All prices on the Brian Travels website are listed in USD.

How far in advance do I need to book?Seats for each excursion/trip are limited and may sell out at any time.

Is there anything I need to bring as a receipt to show my trip booking?No. As a registered and paid guest, you will already be on the list.

What if the ship doesn't end up docking at our excursion port?Unless explicitly stated otherwise in the individual tour description, Brian Travels guests will receive a refund for that day if the ship does not dock at an excursion port.

What is the cancellation policy?All payments made to Brian Travels are non-refundable. You are allowed to transfer seats to another person (see details below).

Are the seats/trips transferrable?You are allowed to transfer seats to another person. Once a transfer is confirmed, you will be refunded 95% of your total payment, less a $25 administrative fee. For cruise passengers on the 2025 sailing season, the last day to transfer any seats is August 20, 2025. If you need to transfer seats, you will need to contact Brian to find out how to make the transfer.

What is your single supplement? (not applicable for cruise excursions)The single supplement for non-cruise trips is 100%.

Do I need travel insurance?Independent travel insurance is recommended.

Where do we meet to begin an excursion?Prior to your trip, you'll receive specific meeting instructions by email.

Are the tours appropriate for people with walking or mobility issues?Unfortunately, many historical locations are not ADA compliant and therefore these trips are not generally appropriate for individuals with walking or mobility issues.

What should I wear or bring on the trip?Each locale is different. Please refer to the guidance on specific trip or excursion web pages regarding what you should wear or bring.

Will I have free time to explore on my own?Each excursion is different. Please refer to the specific excursion web page for information about free time.

Is lunch included?Unless specifically noted in the tour description, no food is provided.

Should I tip the guide?Tips for your guide are welcomed if you believe that the guide has worked hard for you and earned it.

How much is an appropriate tip?In Europe, it is not uncommon for there to be a guide and a driver. They may or may not share tips. If you enjoyed your tour, five Euro per person is the recommended starting point (feel free to use your discretion) for tour guides and two Euro per person for the driver.
