IMPORTANT   IMPORTANT   IMPORTANT   IMPORTANT

The Katakolon excursion and the Olympia entry tickets are sold separately.

Entry tickets to the Olympia archeological site and museum are timed.  For this reason, I must buy a block of tickets to ensure my group can all enter at the same time.  If you plan to explore the ancient archeological site of Olympia to view the birthplace of the Olympics, you will need to buy the Olympia ticket through the link above, which will also provide access to the museum.   It is not mandatory to purchase the Olympia ticket with the excursion.  You will not be able to see much at the archeological site without the entry ticket, and you will not be able to enter the museum on-site. These must be purchased at the same time you purchase the excursion.  You CANNOT purchase the Olympia ticket without the Katakolon excursion.  I must purchase the Olympia tickets well in advance of the cruise because time slots sell out. These tickets are non-refundable once purchased from my website.  In the unlikely event that the ship does not dock, or the port days are switched, I am not able to refund your Olympia ticket(s) because they are non-refundable.  Olympia tickets are non-refundable once purchased.

Olympia entrance tickets are based on 2025 published rates and are subject to

a surcharge if the rates change for 2026

EXCURSION DESCRIPTION

Your day begins with a private minibus pickup from the Port of Katakolon, followed by a scenic 30-minute drive through the beautiful Greek countryside to the historic village of Olympia.  Upon arrival at the Olympia Archaeological Site, explore the birthplace of the Olympic Games at your own pace. Highlights include the Temple of Zeus, the ancient stadium, and various other impressive ruins. You’ll have one hour to immerse yourself in this iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Next, enjoy a 30-minute visit to the Olympia Archaeological Museum, home to remarkable artifacts that offer deeper insight into ancient Greek history and culture.  Afterward, take a short walk into the modern village of Olympia, where you’ll have one hour of free time to shop, enjoy local cuisine, or relax at a café (meals and purchases at your own expense).  Continue your experience with a visit to a local honey shop, where you can sample up to five different varieties of honey, each showcasing the unique flavors of the region.  Then, head to a traditional olive press for a 30–40 minute stop, where you’ll learn about the time-honored process of producing Greek olive oil and its importance to the local culture.  Finally, conclude your day with a visit to a nearby Greek beach. Enjoy approximately one hour of free time to swim in the crystal-clear waters, sunbathe, or enjoy refreshments by the sea (at your own expense), before returning to the port.

We fell in love with Brian within the first 20 seconds. His excursions were well planned extremely well executed, even when monkey wrenches were thrown into the mix. Brian is professional, funny and full of energy that is just infectious! My suggestion book with him book early because the word is out that he is the bomb!! That is, as long as you’re not taking a seat away from me!

As novice international travelers, booking excursions with Brian Travels was one of the best decisions my husband and I made. Brian took the time to meet with us, and answer questions we had before we ever left home. We felt confident and secure in knowing that his tours would be intimate, fun and cover a lot of what we wanted to see. If you are looking for a great adventure with great people, do not hesitate to book with Brian Travels.
