EXCURSION DESCRIPTION
Begin your day with port pickup in a private vehicle in Kusadasi, where we’ll meet our local Turkish guide. From there, enjoy a 30-minute drive to the House of the Virgin Mary, a revered pilgrimage site believed to be the final home of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Next, continue to the ancient city of Ephesus. Entrance tickets must be purchased at the gate. You’ll walk the marble streets alongside your guide, exploring remarkable ruins including the Library of Celsus, the Great Theatre, and many other historic landmarks. For those interested, there is an optional visit to the Terrace Houses with a separate entrance fee. Following your Ephesus tour, we'll visit the nearby Basilica of St. John, traditionally believed to be the burial site of the Apostle John. Conclude your excursion with a traditional Turkish lunch (meal included; beverages not included), before returning to the port of Kusadasi. You’ll have free time to explore the local bazaar market for some shopping or head back to your ship at your leisure.
